Visiting Daddy

Happy Friday!

 

I thought I'd drop in and share some pics of our week.  This little sister is doing well and growing growing!

 

We went back to the clinic on Tuesday to recheck her weight, and she was up to 6 lbs 12 oz!  That's a full pound bigger than her birth weight.  I'm so happy she is gaining so well.  I just love her chubby little cheeks.   All week Jason and I have been talking about the fact that tomorrow is her DUE DATE.  Now that she's been here for almost a month, it is difficult to imagine her still being inside.

 

Yesterday the girls and I got brave and ventured to Le Mars to surprise Daddy for lunch.  The security guy at the front desk called up to him when we got there and told him he had guests, and he came down to find us :)  We went to lunch at Four Brothers and then made a tour of his office to show off the new addition.

 

The "old addition" (Harper Jae) was also in fine form.  Here she is playing in one of the cabinets in the office.  

 

Here she is trying her hand at being a "lane analyst".  That's Jason's official title, by the way.  She looks very professional, I think.

 

We had a very fun time visiting and avoided any major meltdowns or blowouts, so I called it a success.  It was the first time I had taken both girls out by myself...definitely a challenge, but doable.  We also stopped at school on our way back to Rock Valley, and Harper enjoyed that as well.  The girl loves to go.  When we got back in the car after school, I told her we were going home and she said, "No!"  I asked where she wanted to go.  First she said "Abby" (that's her babysitter), and then she said "Grandma."  I guess home with mom and Reese can get pretty boring.  Ha.

Here are some more pics I took of the girls last night.  Reese is starting to stay awake for some longer time periods.  I love her dark eyes!  For the most part, Harper is being a very good and gentle big sister. 

This was good practice for us...we are taking professional pics this Sunday, and it will be interesting to see how both girls do.  The last time we tried to take family pics with Harper, it was such a disaster.  Hopefully she naps well beforehand and is in a great mood :)
