Holiday Weekend

Hi Everyone,

I hope you had a great holiday weekend!  We attempted our first outing to the lake as a family of 4.  It went pretty well even though Harper was sick and not enjoying the water like she usually does.  We decided to do a day trip instead of staying overnight, which helped make it a successful day :)  Here are some pics of the day.  Reese and I had a great time writing thank-you notes back at the trailer while Harper, Daddy, Auntie Joni, and Grandpa Larry went out on the boat.

We also enjoyed hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma Triezenberg at the campground this weekend, but I have no pictures to show for it.  I was glad to have Jason around to help me deal with a sick toddler on top of normal newborn feedings.  We spent our extra day off recuperating and relaxing at home before having some friends over for a barbecue.  It's great to be able to do normal stuff like that again!

Reese is doing well and growing well.  I took her in for a weight check again today, and she is up to 6lbs 12oz! I keep thinking about the fact that this is the week I was originally due.  Crazy.  I'm so glad she is here and we are this far.

Harper continues to do well with her sister.  She loves talking to her and bringing her pipe to her.  But she did have one moment this weekend that reminded us that she still is a typical toddler...we didn't want to bring her to nursery because of her cough and runny nose, so she sat with us in church.  At one point she must have gotten bored and reached over to slap Reese right on the top of the head!  I think Jason and I were both in shock...we really didn't know what to do except whisper fiercely at her. Ha.  A little girl sitting in the row ahead of us saw it all, and she said to her mom after church, "Do you know that Harper hits her baby?" Great. Just the reputation our new little family is looking for :)  Sorry for scarring your daughter, Robyn :)

We have loved getting visitors here at home, and I thought I'd include some pictures of our fun families.  Here are my sister's four kids with Reese (clockwise: Taylor, Maddi, Easton, Jax).

And here are some pics from a visit with Jon & Misty and kids.  My favorites are Lyncoln in the girlie play center and Harper tackling Max while he's trying to play Wii : )

I better get going...Harper is having a very entertaining conversation with herself in her crib, and I'm starting to feel guilty about not going down to get her from her nap.  Have a great week!
