I did a lot of schoolwork today, which was kind of a bummer, but at least I got something accomplished. I feel like my students...even though I have a lot of time and no excuses, I'd still rather play Bubble Shooter than write a paper :)
Jason is on his way here, and he will pick up Harper on his way over. Some friends are also stopping by tonight, and my sister is in the middle of working 4 nights in a row, so it should be a party. I'm excited to have company again for a couple days! I usually do pretty well with alone time, and I have had lots of visitors, but there are still long stretches that I go without human contact. I've found myself commenting to the TV more and more, which is not a good sign. It will be nice to have "constant" company again for the weekend.
I have to share one thing Harper did today. She was napping this morning in Jon and Misty's basement (in her Pack 'n Play), and I had just been texting Misty about how things were going. A few minutes later I got a text from Misty that said Harper had somehow escaped the Pack 'n Play, climbed up the stairs, and announced her presence in the living room by saying "Boo!" to all of them. Stinker.
I'm pretty sure that if I would have woken up in a strange place as a kid, I would have either cried or sat frozen until someone came to get me. Not my daughter--she climbs right out and finds her way to the action :) My mother-in-law always told Jason that she hoped he had five children just like him (pretty sure he gave her a run for her money as a child :). I don't think we will get to five, but child #1 is definitely fulfilling that prophecy. I should add that Jason is the one who taught her how to climb out of the Pack 'n Play in the first place. Figures.
Have a good weekend.
